More available early November, email for waitlist- Organic Cotton California Flora Fabric Mask - Adult size, nose wire, elastic head bands, reusable, good with glasses, ecofriendly
We are taking a short break from mask-making through October! To be notified when more masks are available in early November, please email us at hello[at]coyotebrushstudios.com with the subject line "November mask list".
Masks are made to order. Due to excessive heat and potential power outages this week, these masks may take more than a week to be shipped out.
Coyote Brush Studios fabric masks are washable and reusable, and ready to help protect others while you are out and about, while also celebrating the diversity of native California flora and fauna.
These masks are made with an organic cotton sateen exterior and have a third interior filtration layer made from antimicrobial, absorbent organic cotton fleece infused with antimicrobial silver ions (SILVADUR™). Masks are approximately 7 x 8 inches, include a flat nose wire, and cinch for a secure fit around the face with a continuous loop of 1/4" elastic that goes around the head and neck. These masks are comfortable and quick to put on/take off and they are great for those with glasses, fit both large and small heads, and can also be easier to wear for those with jaw mobility differences.
Fabric masks, while acceptable for the pandemic, are not effective for keeping your lungs safe from wildfire smoke. At your request, we can add a pocket for your own pm2.5 filter, which should help with smoke if you are unable to find an n95 mask or higher.
This mask is one size fits most. While we’ve done a lot of testing to find a size that will fit most heads, they may not work for everyone. Below are alterations we can make to the masks if you have concerns about fit.
Options for mask alterations (please contact us or leave a note with your order if you'd like one of the following alterations to your mask):
Adjustable cotton head loop elastic with toggle instead of closed-loop elastic
Ear loops instead of head loops
Add filter pocket
If you plan on heavily using a single mask for a long period of time, we recommend selecting the adjustableoption, which uses a thicker, sturdier, cotton elastic.
We realize a lot of people are going through difficult times financially, and we want to ensure that everyone who needs a reusable mask can get one. For this batch of masks, we are offering two pay-what-you-can options:
$10- this covers materials and our time to make the mask.
$15- for those who would like to purchase a mask and cover the cost of someone else who is in need in past and future batches of masks, and for those would like to support us during this time. (If you would like to donate more to cover more masks, please let us know! You can add a tip to your order hereif you would like.)
(Please note that ALL of these price points are for one (1) single mask.)
We encourage you to wear your mask while shopping, spending any time with others outside of your household, while wildflower viewing, and more. While no mask can ensure complete safety, they help protect others by reducing the spread of germs from large droplets. They work best when everyone is wearing them. The safest thing you can do is stay home if you are able to, keep 6 feet distance from others, cough into your elbow (even with a mask), and wash your hand for more than 20 seconds frequently.
In an effort to get these out as quickly as possible, orders will come with a single printed sheet of instructions for wear and care of your mask. If you would like more printed instruction sheets, you can download and print your own here! If you would like the masks to be bagged individually with biodegradable plastic bags for distribution to others, let us know.
Species featured on the California Flora mask include: Trillium, Franciscan Manzanita, Tidy Tip, Silver Lupine, Yarrow, Sticky Monkeyflower, Sky Lupine, Blue-Eyed Grass, Bush Poppy, Humboldt lily, Redwood Violet, Checker Lily, White Globe Lily, Chalk Dudleya, Fairy Slipper Orchid, California Poppy, Douglas Iris, Royal Larkspur and Yellow Mariposa Lily.
To put on your mask:
Slide both loops over your head, and pull one loop to the top of your head, and one around the neck.
Press the nose wire around the bridge of your nose (mask should cover your nose and mouth at all times).
To adjust the continuous loop to tighten for a secure fit, you can pull on either the headband or neck loop.
Wash hands before and after touching your mask and sanitize your mask after use with hot water and soap (by hand or in a washing machine).
(Masks should be washed before first use)
